Who we are
The National Ball Hockey League ("NBHL," "we," "us") runs adult and junior ball hockey divisions in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Bermuda and other locations. You can reach us at league@thenbhl.com or 403 Birchfield Dr., Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
This policy covers information we collect through NBHL registration and the NBHL Team Center at center.thenbhl.com, including team registration, individual player registration (Women's Tier 2 draft, Legends, U20 Juniors and free agents), second team admin sign-up, and the Team Center accounts teams use during the season.
Information we collect
From team managers and second team admins
- Name, email address and cell number
- Team details: city, team name, tier, division, home rink, team Instagram and team color
- Answers about your team's background, such as skill level, where players are from, and how you heard about the NBHL
- Which agreements you checked, and when
From individual players
- Name, email address, cell number and birthday

- Playing details: position, highest level played, captain interest, Women's Elite interest and, for Legends, a 1–5 self-rating
- Shirt and shorts sizes and jersey number choices
- For U20 Juniors: gender
- For Women's Tier 2: your answer to the transgender review question
- For players under 18: a parent or guardian's name, email, cell and approval
Collected automatically when you submit a form
- The date and time, your IP address and your browser type. We keep these with your consent and agreement records, and use them to stop spam and fake registrations.
- Google reCAPTCHA checks for automated traffic. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to it.
We don't collect payment card details. Deposits are paid through TickPick, and TickPick's own privacy policy covers your payment.
How we use your information
- To review and place teams and players in divisions, run drafts, and build rosters and schedules
- To check eligibility, including USA Ball Hockey membership and the NBHL salary cap
- To order jerseys and gear in your sizes and numbers
- To contact you about your registration, your team and the league
- To send a confirmation email with a private link to edit your registration
- To keep records of agreements and consent
- To prevent spam, fraud and duplicate registrations
We don't sell your personal information.
Emails and text messages
- Registration emails. Everyone who registers gets emails about their registration, such as confirmations, edit links and Team Center access.
- Text messages are opt-in. We text you only if you check the consent box. Messages cover updates for your team and the league. How often you get them varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- To stop texts, reply STOP. Reply HELP for help, or email league@thenbhl.com.
- Your mobile number is never sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. We share it only with the service providers that send our messages for us.
- Our consent records keep the exact wording you agreed to, with the date, time and IP address, so we can show you agreed.
Who sees your information
- NBHL staff see your full registration. Registration spreadsheets are shared with NBHL staff only.
- Division directors see the teams and players in their own division, so they can run it.
- Teams and captains: once you're placed on a team, the team sees your name, number, position and sizes. A player's USA Ball Hockey number shows only to teams that roster that player. A player's email shows to their team only after the player completes their own registration. Other teams see names and rosters only, never contact details.
- USA Ball Hockey may get the information needed to confirm memberships and sanctioning.
- Service providers handle data for us and only for our purposes: Google (website hosting, database, spreadsheets and email), our texting provider, and TickPick for deposits.
- The law. We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of players and the public.
Sensitive answers and players under 18
- Transgender review answers are seen only by NBHL staff. They are never shared with directors, captains, teams or other players, and they're used only for the NBHL's transgender review process.
- Gender (U20 Juniors) is used for division placement and isn't shown publicly.
- Players under 18. U20 Juniors includes players under 18. A parent or guardian must approve the registration of anyone under 18, and gets a copy of it. Parents and guardians can ask us to review, correct or delete their child's information at league@thenbhl.com.
- We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
How long we keep it
We keep registration records for the season you registered for plus 3 years, so we have player history, eligibility and salary cap records. We keep consent records for as long as we might need to show you agreed. Ask us to delete your information any time, and we will unless we have to keep it for league records or the law.
Security
Your information is stored with Google Cloud (Firebase) and protected by account logins and access rules. Each edit link is private and works only for your registration. Don't share it. No system is perfectly secure. If you think your information has been misused, email us right away.
Your choices
- Change your registration with the edit link in your confirmation email until the NBHL reviews it. After that, email league@thenbhl.com.
- Stop texts by replying STOP. To stop non-essential emails, email us.
- Ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing league@thenbhl.com.
Players outside the United States
NBHL records are stored in the United States. Players in Canada, Great Britain, Europe, Bermuda and other locations can use the choices above and may have extra rights under their local laws, such as Canada's PIPEDA and anti-spam law, or the UK and EU GDPR. Email us to use them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date. For big changes, we'll also email registered teams and players.
